Dewerstone Scout Centre

The Dewerstone Scout Centre lies within the National Trust's Goodameavy Estate, about 8 miles North North East of Plymouth, close to the Dewerstone Rock, within the Dartmoor National Park and on the very fringe of Dartmoor itself.
The Grid Reference is SX 536643.
The Centre provides hostel type accommodation, a separate camping cabin and camping facilities.

The nearby Dewerstone Rock provides some of the best rock climbing in South West England, with routes ranging from elementary to severe.

The western edge of Dartmoor is a mere 10 minutes walk and 200 feet above the Centre. From this point there is endless scope for adventure, exploration and hiking.

The Goodameavy estate consists of some 600 acres of woodland and rough pasture and users of the Centre have free access to the National Trust land.

Plymouth is within easy reach of the Centre where there is much to see and do. Drake's statue on the Hoe, the historic Barbican and the Mayflower steps from which the Pilgrim Fathers sailed to the New World are all well worth a visit.
